BPW Saskatoon is pleased to announce the recipients of the 2016/2017 Educational Bursary for Mature and Aboriginal students in the Saskatoon area who are currently attending school full time.

BPW Saskatoon is a member of BPW International, a network of business and professional women. Our three pillars are education, leadership, and advocacy, and our annual Accessory to a Change fundraiser raises money for our educational bursary program. BPW Saskatoon is committed to supporting the educational aspirations of women in our community. Each year, we invite Mature and Aboriginal women in the Saskatoon area to apply for one of our educational bursaries. Since 2011, BPW Saskatoon has awarded over $39,000 in bursary funds.

This year, we are pleased to be offering three bursaries of $2,000 each to this year’s recipients.

BPW Saskatoon would like to say thank you to the members of the ad hoc bursary selection committee. For privacy reasons, we are unable to tell you who they were, but we would like to recognize and celebrate their commitment in reviewing, debating, and choosing the three recipients of the BPW Saskatoon Educational Bursary from dozens of applications. To the members of the committee – thank you. Your job was not easy, and you did a great job.

BPW Saskatoon would like to thank the educational institutions of Saskatoon and area – we couldn’t have gotten the word out to as many we did without you, and we thank you for your help in spreading the word to our eligible applicants.

BPW Saskatoon would also like to acknowledge and thank all the applicants for their applications. As Bursary Chair, it has been my privilege to work with you. Your stories inspire us all here at BPW Saskatoon to work even harder to provide more funding for future bursary opportunities with events like Accessory to a Change. If you are still eligible for the 2017/2018 bursary, we invite you to apply with us again in December.

It is now my pleasure to announce the recipients of the 2016/2017 BPW Saskatoon Educational Bursary. To all three, we say congratulations and well done. In alphabetical order, they are:

• Danielle Delorme, Aboriginal Student Bursary
• Shelley Little, Aboriginal Student Bursary
• Roberta Nippi, Mature Student Bursary

Please join me on Tuesday, May 2 to meet our three recipients. Ladies – you inspire us all with your guts, determination, and drive. I can’t wait to meet you in person.
